Welcome to the From the Heart Newsletter

Thank you for reading our From the Heart Newsletter, where my team and I will bring you updates, insights, and offerings. We’re grateful for your presence in this community!

On our next episode of From The Heart, we spotlight Massachusetts’ Roadmap to Behavioral Health Reform, a statewide initiative transforming how residents access mental health and substance use services.

Reverend Liz invites program representatives, Kara Hildreth-Fortin and Kate Macomber, to discuss how the Behavioral Health Help Line (BHHL) and Community Behavioral Health Centers (CBHCs) are changing the landscape of care.

These CBHCs serve as mental health drop-in centers, offering same-day, in-person and virtual services for anyone in need—no referral, appointment, or insurance barrier required.

The Roadmap was created in response to overwhelming demand and barriers to timely mental health care.

Discover how the program works and how you can support your neighbors, all during the lunch hour. Grab a bite and tune in on Wednesday, Nov 5, at 12:15 pm ET.

Wounds that Don’t Bleed:
Embodying Solidarity

Reverend Liz was recently featured in Part 1 of the “Wounds That Don’t Bleed” webinar series, a powerful three-part program sponsored by Churches for Middle East Peace.

In this opening session, Rev. Walker joined other leaders to explore the profound trauma and grief many Palestinian Christians have silently experienced caught in the middle of the Middle East conflict. The conversation shed light on how trauma affects daily life, how healing begins, and how we can stand in compassionate solidarity with trauma survivors in Gaza and around the world.

The series aims to educate participants about the nature of trauma while offering practical tools to build resilience and support others through their healing journeys.

Together, we can deepen our understanding and strengthen our collective care.
