Dearborn STEM Academy

MSBA Approves Dearborn Design! On October 2, 2013, the Mass School Building Authority approved the design for a completely new, $50 million Dearborn school. This will make it the first school in the country built specifically to support Science Technology Engineering & Math curriculum.

SIC is incredibly proud of this world class educational facility coming to Dudley Square, Roxbury. It is the result of years of work in collaboration with Greater Boston Interfaith Organization, Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, Trinity Church, as well as students, parents, teachers and hundreds of Roxbury community members. SIC is working hard to ensure the project stays on track even as a new Mayor and Superintendent come into office: Rev. Liz Walker secured Mayor Walsh’s promise to “unequivocally support the Dearborn project through to completion” in front of over 300 community members in late October 2013. Final budget approval for the project is scheduled for March 2014–watch for emails about how you can help ensure the project is fully funded! Click here to connect to the Dearborn Project Website.
