Rev. Liz Walker, Board Chair Rev. Liz oversees the vision and direction of the organization. With years of experience in the public arena and experience founding and running the non-profit, My Sister’s Keeper, Rev. Liz is bringing fresh enthusiasm to all our work, including taking the lead on re-establishing our partnership with Higginson/Lewis School in fall of 2012. Rev. Liz also serves as Transitional Pastor of Roxbury Presbyterian Church.
Ms. Aarti Miller, Program Director Aarti Miller is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of SIC’s programs and partnerships. Ms. Miller grew up in Roxbury and brings many years of experience in business administration to the post. She began with SIC in August of 2012 and is excited to be working in the non-profit sector.
Ms. Nancy Kilburn, Director of Development Ms Kilburn is responsible for fundraising and communicating the impact and scope of SIC programs. Nancy has worked in the non-profit sector in youth development for the past decade, and is thrilled to be part of such a high impact organization at work in the heart of Roxbury.
Please note, in July 2012, Sheila Gunn stepped down as Executive Director of Social Impact Center, after four years of amazing, impactful service! Under her leadership the SIC launched the Adopt-a-School program, helping lay the groundwork for the Dearborn Middle School being earmarked to become a 6-12 Early College STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) Program, the first of its kind in Roxbury. She launched our Saturday School Program and the Tutor Training Program, and much more. Many thanks to Sheila for her years of hard work and dedicated service to grow our educational programs in Roxbury.
