Cory Johnson Trauma Education Project

The Cory Johnson Trauma Education Program is pioneering a new, community-based approach to addressing the epidemic of PTSD in our urban neighborhoods.

"The Trauma Program helps you turn what you've been through into helping others, and that helps you heal. You feel validated; you have a sense of purpose; you can heal by giving back." --KH

Monthly "CAN WE TALK?" events on the last Thursday of each month provide safe, supportive space in which to share your story. Each evening begins with a simple dinner at 6 pm, then opening remarks by Rev. Liz Walker and the time for sharing begins.

Weekly support groups on Thursday nights and monthly mind-body healing nights on the 1st Thursday of the month offer a chance to connect in a smaller setting.

Contact Colleen Sharka, LMHC at colleensharka@rpcsic.org for more information on all programming. Call 617-445-2116 to request childcare.

"The program is a reminder of what life has to offer, there's life after trauma, it's not going to be like this forever."
